Hello! Last week, my group and I began filming the music video. Immediately after filming each scene, my groupmates reviewed all the clips to make sure all the elements of the film were included. After wrapping up filming for the day and checking the quality of each clip, my group and I began to edit. Since my group used multiple cameras for filming, my group had to import all the clips into the editing app. My group accomplished this by iMessaging the videos in a group chat with every member of the group, that way everyone could view the clips. Kemora volunteered to do the editing on her iPhone since she has the most experience with editing.
Next, every member of my group helped to edit the music video. At this point in time, my group had not filmed every scene yet, so only a few clips could be imported. After uploading each video into the editing app, CapCut, I added the song. Once again, the song my group chose was All the Stars by Kendrick Lamar and SZA. After adding the song, I checked the storyboard. This was because I wanted to make sure the music video aligned with the pre-planned storyboard. Then, my group arranged the videos in the order of the storyboard. There were blank screens for the majority of the video at this point since only a few scenes had been filmed. I took note of the transitions Kemora was adding and made sure there was variety. Also, I acknowledged the different camera angles and types of shots my group had. I found quite a few of medium-long shots and eye-level angles. So, I reminded myself that my group should take note of various shot types and angles to be used in the upcoming scenes
. My group continued to gather around the editing device until everyone was satisfied with how the video turned out. Since there are still many scenes to film, nothing in the video is final. However, my groupmates and I all enjoy how the video looks and sounds. I am looking forward to filming and editing the rest of the music video with my groupmates.
