Production Blog: Filming Begins!
Hello! My group and I began filming yesterday! The scheduling conflict settled and my group took advantage of the free time! The first thing that I did was pack up all the props. I put all the materials in a tote bag. Then, I headed out the door to go to my group mate Mela’s house. When I arrived, I put my bag down and began to create a plan for filming. While I made the plan, my group mates evaluated the props I brought and the tripod to make sure they were eligible. They decided the props and tripod were perfect for the video. My group got right to work. The first thing that my group did was film the bathroom scene. I set up the tripod and adjusted it accordingly so that it was a medium-long shot. This would allow the viewer to capture the authenticity of the scene by being able to read the girls body language. The bathroom scene was fairly simple to film. This is because it is just three girls getting ready for dinner. The following scenes were still pretty easy. I set up the tripod so in the hallway so that it pointed at the ground so the viewer could see my group mates and I putting shoes on. While this seems like an irrelevant scene, it is actually quite important and is relevant as it will reveal a bigger picture later in the film. Then my group and I filmed the scene where the girls were walking out of the house and saying bye to Mela’s dad, which was also a simple task. Last, my group filmed the scene of the girls getting into the car. My group mates and I were filming the video in the order of which the scenes will appear. This was in order to make it quicker and easier to edit. My group decided to film the remaining beach scenes during the next filming day, as it was getting late and my group already accomplished a lot that day.
